In the Beginning

Fintan and Vinny (Fin & Vinny) began playing music together as a result of the AGT United Way Talent Show - 1990.  They were both employed in the Data Center at AGT at the time and were performing in two separate acts at the talent show.  They combined forces (Vince’s exceptional ear and self-taught guitar, and Fintan’s clean vocals) and after a couple rehearsals, and with only about 30 songs, they set out to do an unplugged gig at The Pub (The Pub in McCauley Plaza) as Fin & Vinny - June 1990.

The Fin and Vinny gig was a success and after a couple of unplugged gigs, Vinny asked RIK to bring his equipment out to the next gig and provide sound.  (Vinny and RIK had known each other from previous musical encounters).  Having RIK doing the sound turned out to be an excellent idea and on Halloween of 1990, Vinny asked RIK to play a tune with them.  RIK was then asked to join them and the trio was formed.  A friend of the band, Larry Travis, later came up with the name, The Acoustiholics. The trio immediately adopted the name.  Much has happened since Halloween of 1990 at The Pub.  Look around this web site for more information about the trio and their range of interesting experiences and performance memories.
